This un-crowded Basin is about 11 miles long, and is great for boating, sailing, kayaking, and fishing. It is known as one of the State's best Smallmouth bass fisheries, and it also contains big Northern pike, Perch, Walleyes and some Brook trout. Fishing Tournaments are often held here. The property has offered many successful deer hunts. The property is also bordered on the northwest, and west by hundreds of acres of Corporate CFA Land for "walk-in" hunting, trapping, and fishing in season. Snowmobile Trail Number 14 runs diagonally through the southwest corner of the property. This trail is 26 miles long and connects the City of Marquette to the Village of Big Bay. It is one of the most picturesque local trails with mountain paths, and cliff top views of Lake Superior and Lake Independence. Just a mile + to the south is access to the North Country National Scenic Trail. This 4,800 mile trail crosses through eight States, and is the longest scenic trail system in the U. S.
