Renovated County Jail which adjoins the Sheriff's House was built in 1911 and housed prisoners for over eighty years. At the time of construction, it was state-of-the-art with features like a central locking system for the cells. The renovation was completed in 2001 and the result was a theme restaurant on the first floor. Upstairs are four residential units which retain some of the bars and slate floors of the original jail. The unique apartments are now known as the unique custom Jail House apartments. The Sheriff's House at the corner of Main and Court streets was constructed in 1882. It was the home and office for the Tioga County Sheriff Mc Masters. The house had six cells for women prisoners on the second floor (the bars are still in the windows). In later years, it was occupied by law enforcement.
